Direction and Sceneography by Caitlyn Tella

When Antigone buries her brother she joins his rank as a traitor to the state.  For her crime, Kreon, uncle and ruler, shuts Antigone in a cave to die slowly and quietly, away from the paralyzed public. But even in death Antigone refuses to submit to her uncle's man-made plans.

Antigonick is Anne Carson’s version of Sophokles’ prizewinning tragedy. Here, Scatterstate presents a layered and spectral trip into the heart of the ancient dialectic between state and family, law and conscience, earth and cosmos. Created by an all-female cast and design team at the Historic San Jose Armory.
